This summer, GCISD’s Nutrition Services is once again hosting “Cooking with Chef Jason” camps where rising third-sixth grade students learn how to cook a variety of tasty dishes. This year’s menu includes homemade pasta with butter sauce, apple tarts, focaccia bread and more. The classes are taught by GCISD’s Culinary Trainer Chef Jason Aronen.

Great news from our music programs: Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School concert bands took the top places at the Texas Music Educators Association’s regional competition on Thursday. CHHS finished as the top band and GHS was awarded second place! Both are now advancing to Area Competition in a few weeks.
Summer is here, but learning never stops for our incredible educators. Our teachers, campus leaders and instructional teams are diving into three days of enriching professional learning at ActivatED 2025. These sessions, based on teacher feedback, are packed with curriculum-specific topics, ideas to engage families and students, and much more! #WeAreGCISD
Today our GCISD Council of PTAs hosted a great tradition: the annual District Appreciation Luncheon. It was a tasty lunch, but even better was the fellowship everyone enjoyed together. #WeAreGCISD
Congratulations to iUniversity Prep sixth grader Evan Dietrick, who was among 125 young students from across Texas to complete the Lone Star Leadership Academy Alumni Council. As part of this leadership skill-building program, Evan led a GoFundMe effort that raised $2,350 for a local cat rescue. What an inspiring young leader!
Collegiate Academy, where a remarkable 77% of its Class of 2025 graduated with both a high school diploma and an associate degree, hosted a “Signing Day” last Thursday to welcome its incoming freshman class. Way to recruit academic talent!
GCISD is offering free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 and younger this summer through the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program.

🗓️Dates: Monday-Friday, May 29 - July 25 (closed June 19 & July 4).
⏰Hours: Breakfast is 7:40 a.m. - 8:10 a.m. and lunch is 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

There were so many smiles and cheers yesterday as our seniors took their final "Senior Walks" through their elementary and middle schools! What a cherished tradition, seeing them stroll through the halls one last time, cheered on by teachers, parents, and younger students. Congratulations, graduates! We're so proud of you!
Tonight, the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Board of Trustees approved Brooke Teeter-Stocz as the next principal of Grapevine Elementary School. Teeter-Stocz has spent the majority of her career in GCISD, currently serves as an assistant principal at Grapevine High School and will begin her new role in July 2025.

Way to “grow,” Timberline Elementary! On Friday, the school celebrated all the students who crushed their reading and math goals this year. Guess who made a surprise appearance? Plory and Snaarg, mascots for i-Ready, which is the diagnostic and individualized instruction tool that K-8 teachers are using for math and reading in GCISD.

For 17 years, GCISD’s Swim and Dive team has partnered with Christmas Providers to bring smiles and presents to local families during Christmas. We were touched to see the organization stop by on Friday to honor this act of kindness with a Certificate of Appreciation. What a great example of a community working together! #WeAreGCISD
Double win for Grapevine High School robotics at the UIL 5A FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship! Not only did they bring home the bronze medal, they also impressed with their well-designed and engineered robot to win the competition’s Design Award.
