GHS Win Regionals

On October 20, the Grapevine High School and Colleyville Heritage High School boys and girls cross country teams competed at the UIL 5A Region 1 Meet, where all four teams advanced to the state level.

The GHS boys teams won the regional championship, making it their 10th regional title in program history. Junior Juan Gallegos finished in second place overall and senior Andrew Deyoung finished in third.

The CHHS girls team has now qualified for seven straight state championship meets. The team was led by senior Natali Velasquez, who finished in fifth overall.

GHS girls runner, senior Geneva McCreight, also landed in the top 10 with a sixth place finish, helping the GHS girls team place as the regional runner ups.

The UIL 5A Cross Country State Meet will be held on Friday, October 31, at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Good luck to all our runners!
