2026 Accountability Results Show Academic Gains in Every Domain
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD achieved a significant milestone in 2026, moving from a B rating to the top A rating in the Texas Education Agency’s State Accountability system.
The 2026 A-F accountability ratings released today show GCISD earned an overall rating of 91 and improved its letter grade in every accountability domain compared to 2025:
Domain I - Student Achievement: increase of 4 points
Domain II B - School Progress: Academic Growth: increase of 3 points
Domain II B - School Progress: Relative Performance: increase of 6 points
Domain III - Closing the Gaps: increase of 7 points
“This achievement demonstrates what is possible when there are high expectations, and a focus on student success,” said Superintendent Dr. Jason Adams. “The 2026 accountability results show that GCISD campuses are not only maintaining excellence but improving thanks to the hard work of our teachers, staff, parents and most importantly our students,” added Adams.
GCISD earned 59 distinction designations across 21 campuses, an increase from 38 the previous year. Distinctions recognize campuses for outstanding achievement in areas such as reading, mathematics, science, social studies, comparative growth, postsecondary readiness, and closing the gaps.
Results include many points of celebration across GCISD:
Eleven campuses are A-rated for 2026.
GCISD high schools earning high marks, with both Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School earning A Ratings and five distinction designations
iUniversity Prep, GCISD’s online campus, earned an A-rating and continues to be one of the top rated online schools in the state and nation.
Collegiate Academy earned one of the highest overall highest ratings in north Texas.
The strength of GCISD middle school performance is clear: three campuses earned A ratings, while the fourth earned an 86, just four points shy of an A.
Six GCISD campuses improved an overall letter grade.
Elementary campuses can earn up to six distinctions, and Glenhope Elementary School earned distinctions in every category.
GCISD’s elementary schools saw tremendous success, more than doubling the number of distinctions from 12 to 30 in a single year.

We have tremendous momentum and I am confident that we will build on this to ensure that every student is prepared for a successful future.”
The Texas accountability system evaluates districts and campuses in three domains: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps. The ratings are based on multiple measures, including student performance, academic growth, comparisons to schools of similar demographics, and preparation for college, careers or the military.
