On Wednesday, April 8, the Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School boys and girls tennis teams competed at the UIL 5A District 6 championship, where the CHHS boys team won the district title, while the CHHS girls team finished as the district runner-up. Both GCISD tennis programs had seven student-athletes in total qualify for the regional championship.
Each school achieved gold in doubles, with CHHS seniors Finnegan Dooley and Ali Halai winning the boys championship, and GHS senior Noah Malin and junior Sara Gyorgy in mixed doubles.
Malin and Gyorgy have won a district championship every season of their high school tennis careers. Gyorgy has previously won two consecutive doubles state titles in the 2024 and 2025 seasons with sister Emilia Gyorgy, who now plays tennis at the collegiate level for Midwestern State University.

The UIL 5A Region I tournament will be held at the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock, April 13-16.
