At its July 27 Regular Monthly Meeting, the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Board of Trustees approved Tierney Tinnin as the district's Executive Director of Communications.
Most recently, Tinnin served as Chief of Communications and Community Partnerships for Fort Worth ISD. Under her leadership, the communications team strengthened community outreach, expanded storytelling efforts, increased its social media presence and supported initiatives that highlighted student achievement and district transformation.
Prior to Fort Worth ISD, Tinnin served as Chief of Communications and Marketing for Cedar Hill ISD, where she introduced the district’s “Teen Superintendent” program, led the national award-winning “Choose Your Seat” student recruitment campaign, and launched new community engagement programs. She also played a key role in securing voter approval of the district's historic $282 million bond and its first-ever voter-approved tax ratification election, helping position the district for long-term success. She has also held senior communications leadership positions with Irving ISD and Oklahoma City Public Schools. Before entering public education, Tinnin was a television news anchor and reporter for ABC affiliates in Texas and Oklahoma.
Tinnin holds a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism from Langston University, is a three-time winner of the National School Public Relations Association's Gold Medallion Award and earned recognition as one of School PR's Top 35 Under 35. She is an active member of the National School Public Relations Association, the Texas School Public Relations Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Her first day is Tuesday, July 28.
