The following message from Superintendent Dr. Jason Adams was shared on Wednesday, June 17, with staff and families:

Dear GCISD Community,

Thank you for the warm welcome you have extended to me as I begin serving as  Superintendent of Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. It is truly an honor and privilege to join a district defined by dedicated educators, engaged families, and a community united in its unwavering commitment to its schools and students.

I have spent the past 28 years in public education, serving as a teacher, campus administrator, principal, and district leader. Regardless of the roles I have held throughout my career—including now serving as your superintendent—I will always be a teacher at heart. That perspective continues to shape my leadership and serves as a constant reminder that every decision we make should ultimately support the work happening in our classrooms and the success of our students.

My wife, Alandra, is a dyslexia therapist, and together we have been blessed to raise two sons: Ian, who will be a college sophomore this fall, and Lucas, who will be entering college as a freshman. Like so many families, our lives have been shaped by the experiences, opportunities, and relationships that schools provide. Because of that, I understand both professionally and personally the tremendous responsibility we have to serve every child well.

As I begin my time at GCISD, I am mindful of the remarkable legacy that already exists here. This district's reputation for excellence is the result of generations of educators, families, students, and community members working together with a shared commitment to doing what is best for children. I am honored to build upon that strong foundation as we continue preparing GCISD for the future.

I believe deeply in maintaining high expectations for all students. Every child deserves to be challenged, supported, encouraged, and inspired to realize their fullest potential. Our work is to ensure that each student who walks through our classroom doors, and eventually across the graduation stage, leaves GCISD well prepared and confident as they step into college classrooms, careers, and life beyond their time with us.

As we begin this journey together, I look forward to listening, learning, and building strong partnerships across our district and community. The needs of our students and community will continue to evolve, and we must be willing to grow, adapt, and improve together.  By honoring the values that have long defined GCISD while embracing thoughtful innovation and continuous improvement, we can ensure this exceptional district continues to thrive for generations to come.

Thank you for the opportunity to lead and serve this extraordinary community. I am honored to step into this role and energized by the opportunities before us. I look forward to working alongside you to support our students, strengthen our schools, and ensure GCISD remains a place where every child can thrive.

With gratitude and excitement,

Jason Adams, Ed.D.
