On April 3, the Grapevine High School girls soccer team played Frisco Wakeland High School in the UIL 5A Division 2 Semifinals and won 1-0 in a close game at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco.
The lone goal was scored by sophomore Paola Granados to send the Lady Mustangs to their fifth state championship appearance in program history. This is also the first time since 2023 where GHS have competed in the state championship game, where they defeated Frisco High School 1-0.
GHS will face off against Montgomery Lake Creek High School at 4 p.m., Friday, April 10, at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown. Purchase tickets here or click here to see streaming options.
