GCISD Transportation Services competed at the regional School Bus “Roadeo” event held Saturday, March 28, at Mansfield ISD, where Vonda Hopkins won first place and James Hethcock placed second in the transit bus category.
They now advance to the Texas Association of Pupil Transportation (TAPT) state competition, which will be held April 25 at Sheldon ISD.
This annual competition is an opportunity for drivers to showcase their driving skills. The competition tests drivers’ comprehension of school bus laws and safety. Participants also demonstrate their driving ability, including maneuvering a school bus in and around various obstacle courses while being timed.
