On Tuesday, March 24, Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School boys and girls soccer teams competed in the area round of their respective UIL 5A state championship playoff divisions. CHHS boys and girls teams both won their area championships, as did the GHS girls team.
Both the CHHS boys and girls teams faced Paschal High School in a doubleheader matchup Tuesday night. The girls team defeated PHS 3-0, with two goals from junior Ashlyn Bringedahl and the final scored by junior Addison Shimmick.
The boys team followed up the night by beating PHS 2-1 in a close game with goals from senior Ivo Povse and sophomore Nassar Yousef.
The GHS girls team defeated Joshua High School 1-0, with the lone goal scored late in the game by sophomore Ella Wilson off a corner kick taken by junior Makena Carr.

All three teams have now advanced to the regional semifinals of the state playoffs. Congratulations!

CHHS boys vs. El Paso Americas High School, at 1 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Lubbock Cooper High School.
GHS girls vs. Wichita Falls Memorial High School, at 5 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Mineral Wells High School.
