GCISD’s Director of Finance Paula McBride has been named a Rise Award recipient by the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). The award aims to highlight individuals who are on the rise in the school business community.
McBride’s career spans the private sector and school districts, including Mansfield ISD, Cedar Hill ISD, and, since 2025, GCISD. Her work in education as PEIMS registrar, benefits specialist, accounting manager, and executive director of finance has transformed workflows, online forms, and internal controls, improving compliance and productivity.
TASBO has played a large part in her school business career. McBride’s involvement includes mentoring and teaching courses to help fellow business officials grow in their careers and embrace best practices. She also earned the TASBO Registered Texas School Business Administrator (RTSBA) certification in September 2020.
