GCISD students from Colleyville Heritage High School, Grapevine High School and iUniversity Prep competed at the DECA state competition held February 19-21 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, bringing home state championships in six events and Gold Level standing in four School-Based Enterprises. They now advance to compete at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC), April 25-28 in Atlanta, GA. iUniversity Prep DECA was also recognized as New Chapter of the Year for the state of Texas.
ICDC is DECA’s pinnacle event, bringing together 10,000 of the top DECA members to compete in events that demonstrate college and career knowledge and skills in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
Students qualify for ICDC by placing in the top two in the virtual business challenges, finishing in the 25 in the stock market game, earning Gold Level as a School-Based Enterprise (SBE), or participating in the Emerging Leaders Series, a comprehensive leadership program.
