Grapevine High School's head baseball coach, Jimmy Webster, was named the National High School Baseball Coaches Association Coach of the Year for Region 6, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi. This is the second straight year that Webster has received this award.
This past season, Webster led the GHS Mustangs to their third baseball state championship in school history. The Mustangs defeated Humble Kingwood Park High School, 9-5, becoming the first UIL 5A team to win back-to-back state championships since Fort Bend Elkins High School in the 2002 and 2003 seasons.

The Mustangs start their upcoming season at Flower Mound Marcus High School on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Congratulations to Coach Webster on his and the team’s success!
