GCISD was once again named #2 in the Best Districts in the DFW Area and #4 in Texas in the recently released 2026 Niche rankings. The district, which is is #1 out of 95 in Best Places to Teach in the Dallas-Forth Worth area, also achieved higher standings in teaching categories compared to last year.
The district is now #11 in Best Places to Teach in Texas, moving up from last year’s #14 spot, and #11 in Districts with Best Teachers in Texas, previously at #19.
Several schools also received top honors.
iUniversity Prep continues to be #1 in Texas and #2 in America in the Best Public Online High Schools rankings.
In Tarrant County, Glenhope Elementary was #7 in Best Public Elementary Schools and Heritage Elementary was #10. Within the top 10 of Best Public Middle Schools were Heritage Middle School at #7 and Colleyville Middle School at #9. In the Best Public High Schools ranking, Colleyville Heritage was #4 and Grapevine High School was #5.
