A state championship and top finishes in University Interscholastic League (UIL) competitions propelled Grapevine High School and Colleyville Heritage High School to finish in the Top 20 of the 2024-2025 UIL Lone Star Cup Conference 5A.
High schools are awarded points based on their team performance in UIL-sanctioned academic, athletic and music championships.
Grapevine High School tied for 15th place with 60 points. The Mustangs’ second consecutive baseball title earned them the most points in the standings with 18. The girls soccer and softball teams each earned 10 points with their visit to the semifinals. Grapevine Cheer was awarded five points for placing second at State Spirit and GHS Robotics added three points to the overall tally.
Colleyville Heritage High School finished tied in 19th place with 54 points. The girls soccer team led the Panthers in points with 12 for their silver medal finish at state. Baseball, boys basketball and volleyball each earned eight points with their regional finals appearances. The CHHS marching band added four points to the total by advancing to the state competition.
