Shout out to GCISD Career and Technical Education students in the floral design program, Southern Floral and Kroger! The supermarket chain and the floral products distributor donated an estimated $1,400 worth of flowers to the class, and when teacher Jessica Neely asked students what they wanted to do, they said they wanted to create bouquets to brighten up the day of senior citizens at the Bear Creek Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Center in Grapevine. The special delivery happened on Tuesday.

This morning, Grapevine High School unveiled a commemorative mural to mark the school’s 120th anniversary, alongside America’s 250th anniversary! The special artwork was designed by GHS art teacher and alum Kristi Rucker, two GHS National Art Honor Society students, and a local artist.
Tonight, Colleyville Heritage High School softball begins its playoff journey as they take on Brewer High School in a best of three series! Good Luck, Lady Panthers!

Leadership GCISD attended their last session of the spring semester! After learning from the operations and communications teams, members were presented with their certificates and were officially “pinned” as graduates. Thank you to the parents, staff, community members and business leaders who participated in the class and dedicated these last few months learning about the day-to-day operations of GCISD. We also want to give a special shoutout to Firebirds Wood Fired Grill for donating last night’s dinner.
Happy Administrative Professionals Day! Today, we are celebrating the incredible administrative professionals who are essential to campus and department success. They keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, and their dedication, organization and care make a difference every single day.

A lemonade stand and ice cream sundaes made learning extra fun at Dove Elementary last week. As a culmination to their economics unit where they learned about earning, saving and spending money, the RISE class hosted a lemonade stand during recess, greeting customers and preparing each cup. Meanwhile, mastering multiplication facts was extra sweet for third graders who were treated to an ice cream sundae party, with the number of topping selections based on the number of facts they mastered. Way to make learning a treat!

What better way to celebrate learning all about idioms than illustrating them with a parade! That’s what Dove second grade did last week as students and staff dressed in figurative expressions.

Coach Bree Moody transformed Dove Elementary P.E. into a mini-golf course last week! While the students were busy sinking putts, they were actually mastering their "striking unit" that aligns to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) manipulative skills standards.

Congratulations to Colleyville Middle School, Cross Timbers Middle School, Grapevine Middle School, Heritage Middle School, and Grapevine High School for receiving Josten’s Yearbook of Excellence Award! The award is presented to schools that excel at making sure that every student is included, create a meaningful book that students want to purchase and meet yearbook deadlines.
