What a sweet way to celebrate learning! About 40 Silver Lake Elementary students were honored with medals and treated to Kona Ice for reading at least 2,100 minutes this school year as part of their campus wide reading challenge. Nice job!




Five lucky staff members who were honored with GCISD TEAM awards this school year were randomly selected to step into the RBFCU Cash Cube today! The award was established to celebrate employees from Nutrition Services, Transportation Services, Facility Services, Extended Day Program, Early Childhood Development Center and Technology Services who demonstrate exceptional customer service, team building and teamwork! #WeAreGCISD


Multiple campuses across GCISD have been meeting some amazing professionals and learning about a wide range of cool jobs during recent Career Days. A few of many professions have been healthcare workers, engineers, realtors, business owners, law enforcement officers, and scientists. Way to go Zoe Fang, Colleyville Heritage High School junior. Zoe won honorable mention in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for the 24th District of Texas. Her art piece was titled “Echoes of Heritage” and she was recognized last week by Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne.

GCISD and dyslexia teacher Susan Stackfleth, who serves Colleyville Elementary School and O.C. Taylor Elementary School, are semifinalists in the 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards! GCISD was recognized for student achievement through innovative programs, parent/community involvement and professional development opportunities. GCISD’s Career and Technical Education hosted its second annual Health Science Pinning Ceremony yesterday to recognize the 41 honored students who have earned certifications as Patient Care Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians and Medical Assistants. Congratulations! #WeAreGCISD

Grapevine Middle School celebrated the grand opening of its new outdoor classroom, “The Pony Pavilion,” with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that honored the collaboration of students, staff, families, and community partners. Funded in part by a grant and the generous support of organizations like Keep Grapevine Beautiful, the space now features seating, shade, native plants, and tools for exploration.

❤️ O.C. Taylor rallied around one of their fourth grade classmates, Emily, who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. The school’s Kindness Squad organized “Brave Like Emily Week” for the entire campus, including Twin Day to show that the school is united as one big team; Heartfelt Hero Day celebrating courage; and Pink Power to celebrate Emily’s strength and the power of friendship. On Wednesday, they held a drive through parade where everyone wore the school’s color orange while students chanted “Brave like Emily” as she made her way through. ❤️💪🌸

It was an afternoon of big smiles yesterday at the annual Special Olympics luncheon hosted by the Grapevine Rotary Club. More than 40 student-athletes were honored for their participation in events like bowling, track & field and bocce ball!
