At last night’s board meeting, we congratulated School Resource Officer Terry Caldwell, with the Grapevine Police Department, on his upcoming retirement. Officer Caldwell has 41 years in law enforcement, with 25 years as an SRO in GCISD. Thank you for your service!
ICYMI: A new state law, House Bill 1481, prohibits students across Texas from using personal communication devices during the school day. The law goes into effect immediately.

Today was Leadership Day! Campus and leaders across GCISD came together for a great day of learning, reconnecting and preparing for the 2025-2026 school year!
Congratulations to Colleyville Heritage High School senior Daniel Thomas – one of 15 of the State Board of Education’s 2025 Student Heroes. Daniel was described as a changemaker for launching Sustainability, an initiative that has removed over 42,000 pounds of trash from waterways, parks and public areas. He was also previously featured on WFAA for his ClearWTR portable invention.
Big cheers for Grapevine High School’s cheerleaders who organized a “Bow Up for Kerr County” drive to help spread love and support to the families affected by the devastating floods in the Hill Country. This past Thursday-Sunday, they placed 342 bows in front of businesses and homes across the community raising approximately $3,500!
