GCISD’s Journey for the 2025-2026 school year is officially underway. Check out some of the memorable pictures from the first day. Remember, there is no place like GCISD!

Attention all CHHS and GHS students who are scheduled to take shuttles between campuses: On the first day of school (tomorrow, August 13) you will remain at your home campus until attendance reconciliation has been completed. This should be complete by the end of third period, and shuttles are scheduled to begin running for your 4th period classes.

Two iUniversity Prep teachers had the experience of skydiving this Sunday, which is a great tie into the school’s 2025-2026 theme of “Take Flight.” The invitation came from one of their 2025 graduates who owns Dallas Skydive Center. Photos were provided by Grapevine Photo.

Our teachers and campus staff have been busy preparing to welcome our students back to school for what we know will be a great GCISD Journey! Check out some of the activity happening across the district.

We are having a great week of professional learning for all GCISD teachers. They have been diving deep into content areas to prepare to welcome our students back on Wednesday, August 13. Thank you to the district’s instructional team for organizing a mega menu of learning sessions.

Our Extended Day Program and Early Childhood Development Center employees are such an asset to our district, but because they are caring for our employees' children and our students, they aren't able to attend Convocation with the rest of our staff. To show our appreciation, we partnered with the City of Colleyville to provide $35 gift cards, which can be used at participating restaurants and retail businesses within the city. Thank you to our EDP and ECDC teams!

All of our GCISD family came back together this morning at Convocation 2025! Smiles and hugs filled the room as we celebrated the start of a new journey together. We were all so moved by the inspiring stories from our staff and students who beautifully illustrated our theme: the GCISD Journey. Their heartfelt words reminded us of the incredible impact everyone makes every day. It’s going to be a great year! #WeAreGCISD

Congratulations again to GCISD’s Elementary Teacher of the Year Emma Ackels from Silver Lake Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year Gina Ramon from Cross Timbers Middle School! They were celebrated at the Region 11 Teacher of the Year celebration held tonight.

We had such a great Back-to-School Fair on Saturday, that we wanted to share pictures and thank our community partners: The Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Women’s Division which provided school supplies; CONNECT which helped GCISD organize the event, resources and community organizations; GRACE Grapevine which supported families with additional resources; and the Grapevine Police Department and Colleyville Police Departments which helped monitor traffic and keep things moving. Thank you as well to 121 Community Church, GCISD educators and all of our other volunteers!
