GCISD students, excluding Collegiate Academy and iUniversity Prep, will not have school on Friday, February 16, since the inclement weather make-up day is not needed. They will also be off on Monday, February 19, for a staff professional development day. Collegiate Academy remains in session on Friday, February 16, and Monday, February 19. iUniversity Prep is in session on Friday, February 16, but not Monday, February 19.

Today, Dove Elementary School hosted its annual Friendship Day! Families from different countries shared their cultures with students and staff. It was a great day of learning about life in different parts of the world. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. #WeAreGCISD

Thank you to our community partner, Chicken N Pickle, for bringing the fun of pickleball to our Grapevine Elementary School students. During PE, Coach Basil and the guest coaches used pickleball to help students improve their hand-eye coordination and cardio. #WeAreGCISD

On today’s Trustee Tour, Dr. Schnautz and Trustee Dianna Sager visited Grapevine Middle School. While there, they learned more about how the school is improving their academic skills, and they got a sneak peek of the project students will present at STEM-a-palooza. They also celebrated GMS winning the GCISD Middle School Wrestling Championship. #WeAreGCISD







Congratulations to these GCISD student-athletes who signed commitment letters to play on the collegiate level. These students have worked so hard to make it to this point, and GCISD is very proud of them.

For the third consecutive year, Grapevine Elementary School united to read one book together over a four-week period, which concluded on February 2. This year’s One School One Book was “Wedgie & Gizmo,” a story about a guinea pig named Gizmo and a dog named Wedgie. 📚🐕

The Early Childhood Development Center had some special guests come by yesterday! Trustee Mary Humphrey and Dr. Schnautz visited our littlest students and learned how the ECDC sets each child up for success. #WeAreGCISD

At its January 22 school board meeting, the GCISD Board of Trustees voted to call a $150 million bond election that addresses safety, aging schools and infrastructure without raising the tax rate.
