The month of April is “Month of the Military Child,” and today, Grapevine Middle School partnered with the Daughters of the American Revolution to celebrate and honor students of military families who are either on active duty or formerly served our country. Update 12:44 p.m.: Colleyville PD has released the “Secure” for Colleyville Elementary, Colleyville Middle, and Bridges/Vista/PDEC. They have concluded their investigation and determined that the area is clear to resume normal activity. We appreciate the partnership and proactive response of our law enforcement to ensure our students and staff were safe while they conducted their investigation. Thank you to our families and community for following our safety protocols during this time. All school activities will now resume and visitors are welcome.
Update 12:18 p.m.: Colleyville PD continues its investigation and Colleyville Elementary, Colleyville Middle, and Bridges/Vista/PDEC remain in a “Secure.” Lunches have remained on schedule, and students are participating in regularly scheduled learning activities.
Update 11:50 a.m.: Colleyville Elementary, Colleyville Middle, and Bridges/Vista/PDEC remain in a “Secure” due to an ongoing police investigation in the 6100 block of Pleasant Run. At this time, please do not come to any of these facilities. Students and staff remain inside the building and are conducting business as usual. As the Colleyville Police Department releases more information, we will be sure to share that.

For the last three weeks of the school year, Heritage Middle School eighth graders are “Covering the Bases,” a cross-curricular unit of study on what they have learned this school year. To celebrate, HMS held a kick-off pep rally in which former GCISD student and current Kansas City Royals player Bobby Witt Jr. gave a video message full of encouragement. Do you know what’s on your ballot?
The GCISD Bond Election will be listed as three propositions on your ballot in accordance with Senate Bill 30, which was passed by lawmakers in 2019. The ballot will look similar to the ones pictured below, and voters are encouraged to vote in each of the three propositions.
