Alumni Shoutout! You may have seen a familiar face recently on your TVs. Colleyville Heritage High School 2017 graduate Brandon Borick has been competing on Amazon Prime Video’s season two of Beast Games hosted by YouTube personality MrBeast. Borick reached the top 24 of the competition and is in the running for the grand prize of $5,000,000! Congratulations, Brandon!

🏆Champions Alert 📣Congratulations to Grapevine High School Cheer for winning their fifth consecutive National Cheerleaders Association title in the Game Day Rally division! The team includes members of the drumline, Mustang Guard and Fillies. They also won first place in Intermediate Varsity Crowd Leading small division, for the fourth time, and were named the Herkie High Point Champion of all 18 intermediate divisions. Congratulations as well to Colleyville Heritage High School Cheer for placing 12th in the Game Day Varsity medium division.

At last night’s regular meeting, Trustees honored GCISD’s All-State Musicians. Less than 1,900 students are named to this honor, placing GCISD students in the top 3% of all high school musicians in Texas. Trustees also received appreciation cards and artwork from campuses as well as flowers from the CTE floral design class in honor of School Board Recognition Month.


Due to inclement weather in the forecast, all GCISD extracurricular activities for Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25, are canceled. After-school and evening activities for today, January 23, may continue as scheduled.

Bransford Elementary kicked off One School One Book on Thursday, January 15, with a “Roll & Read” night! Families laced up their skates, for some after school family fun and to pick up a copy of this year’s book “Soccer on Sunday.” Across GCISD, elementary campuses organize One School One Book programs to celebrate reading together.

Dove Elementary School second grade students, teachers and families had a 🐾paws-itively 🐾great time of learning at the Dove Reads ‘Fur’ Fun event Wednesday night. The event was to celebrate reading and share how families can support literacy at home. Students also were able to adopt their very own reading buddy stuffed animals. What a fun way to pack some more reading skills! 📖

Last night was our first session of Leadership GCISD’s spring class! The Academics team kicked off this semester by sharing how GCISD delivers high-quality instruction to achieve student learning and success. A special shout out to Loveria Caffe in Colleyville for providing dinner for the class.
