Today we joined the GCISD PTAs in celebrating Founders Day! The celebration was to honor the founders of PTA, but also to honor our amazing volunteers who continue their legacy. Congratulations to everyone receiving special awards and recognition! Thank you to our GCISD Career and Technical Education culinary students for the delicious breakfast and to leadership students for serving as greeters and helping during the event.

Statebound! This morning our community, students and staff gathered for a send-off for the Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School Swim & Dive state qualifiers as they head to state! Let’s wish them luck in bringing home the gold!

Leadership GCISD met for their second session of the semester last night. The class first heard about GCISD student services, counseling and health services, and then toured athletics, fine arts and GCISD’s Career and Technical Education facilities.

Shout out to Rock & Brews Grapevine for generously donating dinner for the class.

Bransford Elementary School scored a visit from the Grapevine High School boys soccer team on Friday, February 13. The team gave out high fives during morning arrival and then visited classrooms to read aloud to classes portions of the book “Soccer on Sunday,” which is Bransford’s One School One Book this school year.

Guess who stopped by to visit GCISD Career and Technical Education staff today in honor of CTE Month? It was Tinkerbell, a mini highland cow from Little Moo Ranch. GCISD’s CTE program has remarkable Animal Science and Agricultural programs of study, in addition to other pathways that prepare students with skills for the workforce and post-secondary education. Thank you as well to the community member who brought delicious pastries!

GCISD’s Bilingual Services invites families to attend a Parent Information Session about the tests that students need to pass to demonstrate English proficiency in order to be reclassified and what families can do at home to help. The session will be held from 12:30-2 p.m., Thursday, February 12. Don’t miss our Community Engagement Event with the Texas Education Agency from 12:30-2 p.m., Wednesday, February 18. Both sessions will be at the JPS Building, 3050 Timberline Drive, Grapevine, TX, 76051.

Today is Crossing Guard Appreciation Day! Rain or shine, they greet our students with a smile and ensure safe passage for our walkers and bikers. Join us in thanking our incredible crossing guards for all they do!

On Thursday, Grapevine Elementary School achieved their schoolwide goal of sharing 100 “Cow-pliments,” or compliments, in one day! This is part of a 100-related event involving cows that occurs in the book the school is reading for One School One Book. For reaching their goal, on Friday the school received a visit from two mini Highland cows, complements of one of the school families.

The Bransford Elementary School Dads Club hosted “Cereal Bowl 2026” on Friday, February 6. This is an annual tradition that creates a fun opportunity for students to share which team they’ll be cheering for in the big game.

This week was the 100th day of school! Our elementary campuses celebrated with fun attire and 100-related lessons. What a fun way to celebrate 100 days of learning.

Today was Dove Elementary School’s 13th Annual Friendship Day. The day is a celebration of friendship and global cultures! Students explore traditions, music, and stories from different countries to learn, connect, and celebrate Dove’s diverse school community.

This month’s Grapevine Young Professionals luncheon featured GCISD Career and Technical Education. The highlight of the presentation was none other than our students! Hailey Warzecha and Marco Paramo Lopez, both seniors at Grapevine High School, shared their path through GCISD CTE, the difference these opportunities have made in their preparations for life beyond high school, and their future goals. What a great way to spread awareness and appreciation during CTE Month!

February is CTE Month! GCISD is so grateful to have one of the best Career and Technical Education programs that prepares students with real-world opportunities, valuable lifetime skills, and college, workforce or military readiness. Happy School Counselor Appreciation Week! GCISD is thankful for our counselors who build relationships, foster positive change and empower students to succeed in a supportive environment. Take a moment to share a comment about the tremendous difference that our counselors make!

Reminder: GCISD’s AVID Family Information Session is tonight, February 2. Parents and their incoming 6th-10th grade students can learn how this college readiness elective helps students with tutor-facilitated study groups, collaborative activities and academic success skills. A concurrent session will also be offered in Spanish.
