Update 1:49 p.m.: Glenhope remains in a “Secure” as two local fire departments have now responded to the structure fire near our school. There is no threat to the campus, and GHES continues to conduct business as usual. Twelve Oaks Ln. from Pool Rd. is not accessible at this time. Avoid this area and do not come to the campus as visitors will not be granted access to the school.

Cannon Elementary fifth graders showcased their science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills in the school's First Lego League (FLL) robotics competition on Thursday, April 24. Teams Robo H20, Robots “R” Us, Tech 40, and Aquatic Bots built and coded robots to conquer challenges within 2 1/2 minutes. In the end, Aquatic Bots emerged as the top team, but the competition showcased all of the students’ critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills!


Guess who was at Dove Friday: the i-Ready mascot! The mascot came out to celebrate the winners of the school's March Madness challenge, where classes participated in brackets to show their mastery of reading and math. Students work independently on their i-Ready personalized instruction to complete lessons assigned based on their individual skill levels and needs.


📚 Tomorrow is an important testing day 📚
On Tuesday, April 29, students across all campuses will be taking math assessments. Third through eighth grade students will be taking the math STAAR, and the Algebra I EOC will be given. Please make sure your student gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast and arrives on time.


After two months of competing for customer votes, students in GCISD’s Advanced Culinary class, part of the district’s Career and Technical Education program, finally discovered which of their pizza creations was most successful. And the winning pizza is the Don Maca-Loni! Stop by Wise Guys Pizzeria to try this delicious combination of alfredo sauce, mozzarella and macaroni. #WeAreGCISD


Last night, the Grapevine High School girls soccer team received their bronze medals in celebration of an incredible season and a top-four finish in their division. Congratulations to this outstanding team on another remarkable year of soccer! #WeAreGCISD

On Tuesday night, fourth and fifth graders from Colleyville Elementary unveiled their mural at the Colleyville Public Library, where Colleyville Mayor Bobby Lindamood Jr. began the ceremony with a ribbon cutting. The mural features paintings of the students' favorite storybook characters and can be viewed on the second floor of the Colleyville Public Library through April 26. #WeAreGCISD


Last night, we celebrated the graduation of the second class of Leadership GCISD! This incredible group of community members got a behind-the-scenes look at what makes GCISD thrive, and finished their semester-long program learning more from Finance, Human Resources and Technology.
