iUP Owlgorithm team

Their name is the Owlgorithm Wizards and on February 23, this three-student iUniversity Prep team competed in the Lockheed Martin Code Quest computer programming competition earning third place in the U.S. Virtual Competition, Advanced Division.

During the two-and-a-half hour competition, teams of two or three students worked together to solve problems by using JAVA, Python, C#, and/or C++ programming to complete 25 challenging problems created by Lockheed Martin engineers and computer programmers. Each problem carried a point value, which depended on problem difficulty. The goal was to earn as many points as possible.

Out of 103 teams in the virtual competition, the Owlgorithm Wizards, which consisted of senior Evan Larson, sophomore Aydon Phillips, and junior Grace Sng, earned 375 points, only five points from second place. Congratulations to these talented students and team advisor Daniel Wennersten.
