In order to qualify to substitute for a teacher in GCISD, you must have 60 or more completed college hours. Substitute Aides are not required to have college hours completed.
We also require that at least two of your (professional) references have responded favorably to the auto generated email which they will receive once you submit your application.
Once submitted, your application will be reviewed. Candidates meeting requirements above and having experience and work history in line with district goals will be contacted via e-mail with an invitation to attend a brief interview with the Human Resources Coordinator.
Following the interview, if a determination is made to move forward, you will be contacted (via e-mail) with orientation dates and instructions regarding the fingerprinting process which is a requirement for all public school employees. This is done through the Texas Education Agency. There is a fee for fingerprinting which is the responsibility of the applicant. If you have already been fingerprinted, we will be notified by TEA that your prints are complete.
Only those applicants meeting the criteria and fitting the profile for substitute teachers will be contacted for an interview.
