Sixteen student pieces have earned Scholastic Art & Writing regional awards and one has earned a National Gold Medal. This is the country's oldest recognition program for creative teens. Notable alumni include Andy Warhol, John Updike, Truman Capote, Sylvia Plath, Zac Posen, Joyce Carol Oates, and Robert Redford. Students who receive a Golden Key in regionals advance in the competition to compete for national awards and scholarships.
