Extra Curricular Transportation is available for GCISD students and employees. GCISD travels approximately 150 thousand miles a year in extra curricular activities. There are four different types of vehicles available for extra curricular activities.

Regular School Bus
The regular school bus has a capacity is 77 passengers, at three to a seat, according to manufacturer standards. Most extra curricular activities are requested at a ratio of two per seat, equaling 48 passengers. Regular school buses are used for distances less than 100 miles. 

Special Needs School Bus
The capacity ranges from 8-20 passengers, and has wheelchair accessibility.

Transit School Bus
The capacity is 46 passengers, according to manufacturer standards, equipped with high back individual seats. Transit buses are available for trips of distances greater than 100 miles, and are equipped with luggage storage space inside and underneath, DVD entertainment package and wi-fi. The district only has four transit buses and they are subject to availability.

SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle)
The capacity is 9 passengers including the driver. SUV's are available for local or out of town travel and are subject to availability.
