It might be raining outside but it was snowing inside today at GES! Mrs. Couch's PreK class had a snowball fight in the hall because they couldn't go outside for recess. Snow much fun!!!

When you attend school in the Christmas Capital of Texas, you have to participate in the fun! Many thanks to the Araujo family for helping decorate our GES sign in beautiful garland. We also received a donation from Good Things for All Seasons of beautiful ornaments that are hanging in the office. Thank you to our community partners for bringing holiday cheer to our campus and students.

Teachers and staff kids helped "Deck the Halls" after school today. Thanks to many donations last year, we were able to put a tree in the learning commons, cafeteria, and foyer. We also wrapped the exterior poles in garland and put up blowup arches inside.

Our 3rd-5th grade students enjoyed a special presentation this morning. Dancers from Momentum Dance Company joined us to share the story of the Nutcracker and parts of their dances from their show. Our very own Ms. Jackson is the Sugar Plum Fairy!

This morning, the fire alarm was going off at GCISD's Transportation Building as bus drivers were arriving. The fire department is on the scene and staff is currently waiting for the all clear. However, all bus routes across the district will be delayed this morning. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The last principals month highlight of the week goes to Mrs. Hale from Grapevine Elementary School. If she could learn a new skill instantly, it would be to speak a second language. Thank you to Mrs. Hale for all you do for GES! #WeAreGCISD

What college did you go to? University of Florida What do you like about being a principal? I love inspiring and supporting educators to be their best for their students each day. An elementary school is a magical place, and I'm just so grateful I get to lead a campus each day. What's the best advice you've ever received? Treat professionals like professionals, and they'll act like professionals. If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be? Knowing a second language.
