At its February 28 meeting, the GCISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Todd Raymond as the District’s new Executive Director of Athletics.
Raymond, whose peers named him one of the top athletic directors in Texas two years ago, will take over one of the state’s most successful, well-rounded athletic programs.
“When you look at GCISD and the success that the district is having, this was the right decision and the perfect fit,” Raymond said. “From the top down, the leadership of GCISD is well-respected and continues to push for excellence. The expectations for these programs are high, but what's even higher is the continued level of success these student-athletes and coaches achieve year after year. I am excited to come in and support the district and take our high-performing program to the next level.”
Raymond comes to GCISD with more than 26 years of experience in coaching and leading athletic departments. Since 2017, he has served as Athletic Director in Pflugerville ISD. During his time in Pflugerville, Raymond was named the 2020 Texas High School Athletic Director Association’s Region 6 AD of the Year.
Prior to his time in Pflugerville, Raymond spent five years as the Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach at Lehman School in Hays Consolidated ISD. From 2009 to 2012, Raymond served as the Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach at McCallum High School in Austin ISD. In 2009, his football team was named Army Strong 4A Team of the Year and Dave Campbell’s 4A Comeback Team of the Year.
Raymond earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin in 1996 and a Master of Education in Sports Administration from Concordia University in 2017.
