As a Leader in Me school, the staff of Timberline Elementary teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Each year, Leader in Me schools from around the globe come together at Symposium, a conference of educators and students growing together in their leadership abilities. Timberline has previously been a destination school for Symposium school tours but this year is special! In 2017, Timberline staff and students achieved Lighthouse Distinction, an achievement shared with only 354 schools world-wide!
On February 2, Timberline opened its doors to visitors, including school and district administrators, teachers, GCISD Board of Trustees, and community members, so that they could see what makes Timberline unique. Principal Shelley Ingram is in her first year as Timberline’s administration.
