Thanksgiving Take and Bake Sides and Desserts

GCISD Nutrition Services is adding Thanksgiving sides and desserts to its “Take and Bake Meals” menu this month. Members of the GCISD community can purchase the prepared sides and desserts that only require you to reheat and enjoy, and 10% of all sales will benefit the GCISD Education Foundation.

GCISD’s chef and culinary trainer Jason Aronen will prepare four delicious traditional sides (each serves 8) that can be picked up on November 19 or 20. All sides will be frozen and include easy to follow instructions. Sides available include Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole with crumb topping, traditional stuffing and green bean casserole. 

Sides can be purchased for $12 each, or families can purchase all four for $44. Additionally, families can purchase prepared dough for six croissants for $12 or 12 croissants for $22. For dessert, families can enjoy 10 decadent truffle cake balls for $28 and 12 assorted petit fours for $15. Additional information on all menu items can be found below.

All orders must be placed by November 17 and can be placed and paid for online through RevTrak (GCISD’s secure payment website). When ordering, you will choose your menu item(s) and the date that you wish to pick up your meals. Curbside pick up will be held from 2-5 p.m. at the GCISD Professional Development and Education Center (5800 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034). Follow the posted signs for the curbside pick up area and call 817-781-9514.

Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes - $12
Fresh yukon gold potatoes blended to fluffy perfection using pure sour cream, butter and milk for this must-have Thanksgiving side dish.

Sweet Potato Casserole with Crumb Topping - $12
Creamy sweet potatoes with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Topped with Chef’s own oatmeal pecan crumb topping.

Traditional Stuffing - $12
This dish combines a mix of fresh herbs and spices with scratch-made croutons to create the perfect stuffing!

Green Bean Casserole - $12
This traditional Thanksgiving side is prepared with green beans, cream of mushroom soup, fresh herbs and seasonings. Fried onion straws added to the casserole perfects this favorite side.

Premium Croissant Dough - (6) $12 or (12) $22
You won’t regret including these as part of your meal! Preparing the croissant dough is easy; simply thaw and bake following the included instructions. Make sure you have extras for leftover ham and turkey sandwiches!

Decadent Truffle Cake Balls (Fudge (5) and Salted Caramel (5)) - $28
Take a break from pumpkin pie this holiday! Chocolate fudge cake with a truffle center and caramel cake with a sea salt caramel center. 1.75" round, 1.8 oz each

Assorted Petits Fours (12) - $15 
A delicious assortment of chocolate and vanilla petit fours. Traditional size 1"x1". A great addition to any dessert table!
