Medal of Honor recipients and veterans visited four GCISD campuses on Friday, September 13. Organized in partnership with the Tribute to Valor Foundation, these events allowed GCISD students the opportunity to hear from some of our nation’s heroes about the six values of the Medal of Honor; Courage, Sacrifice, Patriotism, Citizenship, Integrity, and Commitment.

These events were hosted at Bridges Accelerated Learning Center, Cannon Elementary: A GCISD STEM School, GCISD’s Collegiate Academy at TCC Northeast and Colleyville Heritage High School.

Later that night, Medal of Honor recipients were honored at Mustang Panther Stadium during the Colleyville Heritage High School football game against Trinity High School. Medal of Honor recipient James McCloughan sang the National Anthem, all 12 Medal of Honor recipients in attendance were honored at halftime, the Patriot Guard Riders escorted the Medal of Honor recipients to the stadium and at halftime, along with numerous other activities to honor the veterans in attendance. The event at Mustang Panther Stadium was also organized by the Tribute to Valor Foundation.

The following evening, September 14, Colleyville Heritage students performed at the Tribute to Valor Foundation Gala. Photos from campus events, the Mustang Panther Stadium event, as well as a video of the CHHS performance can be viewed below or by clicking the previous links.
