Heritage Elementary School students took part in Wild About Science Day. This educational, fun-filled day encouraged students to think critically about science while participating in engaging hands-on science activities. Heritage ES teachers and staff brought together lessons about Earth Day in the planned activities. Instructional coaches from the district also joined in the campus activities to support students’ learning.
“Wild about Science Day provides the opportunity for students to engage in fun and educational activities to enhance their understanding of science concepts, such as force and motion, matter, and the solar system,” said Stacey Voigt, Heritage ES principal. “Held in conjunction with Earth Day, this day also develops a passion for science in our students not just today but every day!”
Wild About Science Day was just one way the students celebrated Earth Day. All Heritage ES students and staff were encouraged to walk, ride bikes, or carpool to school, bring waste-free lunches, and wear green to celebrate Earth Day. They also took part in Soles4Souls where students and staff donated 866 pairs of shoes to help those in need. Check out more pictures from Wild About Science day on the Heritage ES Facebook page!
