Moments ago, the GCISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Nicole Lyons as the new Executive Director of Communications.

Lyons currently serves as the Assistant Director of Communications for Keller ISD.  She works directly with the team that is responsible for producing communications and content shared across the district’s various platforms. She has been serving Keller ISD since 2013.

"Supporting our educators and students by celebrating their achievements and successes is an honor – one that I'm excited to continue in Grapevine-Colleyville," Lyons said. "I look forward to building strong relationships and working alongside the staff and families as we make meaningful contributions to the greater GCISD community."

Lyons is a current member of the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) and the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). In 2019 and 2020, Lyons received the Crystal Award from the TSPRA for her work on the “Faces of Keller ISD” and “IT’S Award (Innovative Teachers Inspiring Students)” projects for Keller ISD.

Prior to her time with Keller ISD, Lyons spent time working with the Lewisville ISD Education Foundation and the UNT Health Science Center. Lyons graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a degree in Public Relations and Advertising.

“Nicole Lyons is going to do great things in GCISD,” said Superintendent Dr. Robin Ryan. “Her leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of school communications, and her passion for public education is going to quickly add value to GCISD’s communication efforts.”
