GCISD swimmers and divers competed at the UIL 5A Swimming and Diving Championships at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center at the University of Texas at Austin on February 16 and 17.
Results:
- David Hallaron (Grapevine HS) won the 200-yard Individual Medley state title and placed second in the 100-yard backstroke. David broke the 200 yard IM and 100-yard backstroke school record and achieved the automatic All-American time standard in the 200 yard IM and All-American consideration time standard in the 100 back.
- Samantha Tatum (Grapevine HS) placed 22nd in the 100-yard freestyle.
- The Grapevine HS boys 200 free relay (Gavin Carey, Eric He, Lyon Lee, David Hallaron) advanced to the consolation finals.
- Abby Devereaux (Colleyville Heritage HS) placed seventh in 1-meter diving.
- Sasha Culbertson (Colleyville Heritage HS) placed 10th in 1-meter diving.
