On the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Apollo 11 mission, representatives from Boeing visited Timberline Elementary for a fun afternoon of learning. Boeing taught the students about the Apollo 11 mission, then helped students build compressed, air-powered rockets that they launched.
The event was part of Global Rocket Launch Day, sponsored by Boeing and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, which encouraged people around the world to commemorate the Apollo 11 anniversary and relive the milestone by launching their own rockets.
