Frequently Asked Questions

In order to provide answers to the entire community, GCISD has created a Frequently Asked Questions webpage within its Coronavirus (COVID-19) online resources.

This page is updated regularly as the District receives updates and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Texas Education Agency, Texas Department of Health Services and Tarrant County Public Health.

If you would like to ask a question, please refer to the Contacting Us information above.

Student Device Pickup

As one of our goals this week is Connectivity, the District is coordinating efforts for families to pick up student devices that may have been left on campus during Spring Break. Families that need to pick up medications from their campus nurse will also be able to do so during this time.

Elementary Students
Families will be allowed to pick up devices on Thursday and Friday of this week. Families should look for direct communication from their campuses regarding device pickup times and more information.

Middle School Students
Students from all middle schools will be able to pick up devices and instruments from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Technology support will be available for those that need it.

CHHS and GHS Students
Students from both CHHS and GHS will be able to pick up devices and instruments from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday. Technology support will be available for those that need it.

During this unprecedented time, GCISD is committed to providing remote, age-appropriate opportunities using the district’s learning resources. During the week of March 16-20, the focus will be on two things: Connectivity and Learning@Home.

In order to ensure that all students have access to an electronic device, each campus will coordinate a pick-up window for a parent to come to school and retrieve a student’s device.

Additionally, we ask that all students visit the Learning@Home site to find initial resources that have been collected for the benefit of students and families. If you have specific questions about Learning@Home, please contact us at learning@gcisd.net.
