Deaf Education Services
Doing Everything in Another Form

GCISD offers a variety of services to assist and serve our students with hearing impairments.  The primary responsibility of the Deaf Ed. teacher is to provide specialized instruction and services required to meet the unique educational needs of GCISD students with hearing impairments.  This is done through both direct services with students as well as consultation time with the student's special and general education teachers and other staff who work with the student.

The Deaf Ed. teacher evaluates each student's needs and provides instruction in the development and maintenance of skills to help the student be successful, have access to all areas of the educational environment and help facilitate communication with others.
