Return to Work Draft Guidelines
GCISD has released it's 2020-2021 Return to Work Draft Guidelines to employees. The guidelines outline safety protocols including social distancing, daily screenings and wearing a mask. These guidelines may be updated as the local, state and national health situation evolves. GCISD also knows that some staff members may have personal considerations that need to be reviewed by the Human Resources Department related to the need for an accommodation. If you need to request a workplace accommodation, please complete the form that can be found here

Employee Rights
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020. For more information, please view this flyer.

Our employees are the most important resource for providing a quality educational program for the students of this community. Recognizing this, and Building Excellent Schools Together, is the goal of the Human Resources department to accomplish the following:

  • to recruit and select highly qualified candidates available for each vacancy in the District
  • to allocate the District's personnel in a manner that will have the greatest positive impact on the instructional program
  • to promote a climate in which optimum staff performance and job satisfaction are achieved

A Top 100 Place to Work

In 2019, GCISD was one of just two school districts to receive the prestigious honor. This distinction is based solely on employee feedback, and therefore, GCISD has created the Top 100 Employee Award to recognize its tremendous staff.
