The Summer Bridge Math and Science Acceleration or Enrichment Program is designed to support current students in On-Level, Advanced or Accelerated Math or Science for success in Accelerated 7th or Accelerated 8th grade Math and/or Science. The courses include:

Math for 7th Grade (current 6th to 7th grade transition)

Algebra 1 Readiness (current 7th to 8th grade transition)

Science for 7th Grade  (Science for the 6th to 7th transition)

Biology Readiness (Science for the 7th to 8th transition)

The courses are designed to strengthen math and science knowledge and thinking skills. The courses run concurrently with GCISD summer school courses and are taught by GCISD math and science teachers using an engaging and interactive curriculum. Students are expected to attend all four weeks of the program.  Attendance will be taken daily and Summer Programs discipline policies apply. While it is not possible for each course to fully cover the breadth of material learned in the Accelerated classroom, the bridge courses are designed to support students in making the transition into Accelerated. Parents are encouraged to contact their campus counselor for more information on making registration decisions.
