The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has named Grapevine High School golf head coach Bryan Humphreys the Texas and Southwest Section Coach of the Year. The Southwest Section includes schools in Texas, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico
and Oklahoma.
Humphreys was nominated by the UIL after leading the Mustangs’ girls golf team to its second consecutive 5A State Championship last season. Since taking over the GHS golf programs in 2000, Coach Humphreys has led the boys and girls programs to a combined 13 district championships, 23 regional appearances, seven state appearances, four Region 1
titles and two UIL State Championships.
