Place 6 - Doug Noell

Doug Noell was elected to the GCISD School Board of Trustees in May 2017. He is a 7th generation Texan who graduated with a degree in Economics from Texas A&M University where he held leadership positions in the Corps of Cadets and the Texas Aggie Band. After college, he worked for a healthcare insurer and then moved on to a career as an information systems and business process consultant. He retired from Dell Services (formerly Perot Systems) in 2010. Since then, he has had the privilege of being a stay-at-home dad.

Noell and his wife Courtney moved from Dallas to Grapevine in 2001 because they enjoyed the character of the community and because Grapevine-Colleyville schools had an excellent reputation while supporting a diverse population. They have one son and he is now at Cross Timbers Middle School.

During his son’s enrollment in GCISD schools, Noell has volunteered extensively, actively participating in Dads’ Clubs and serving on executive boards for the Timberline PTA, Glenhope PTA, CTMS PTA and GCISD Council of PTAs. Additionally, he served on the Campus Excellence Committees at Glenhope and Timberline. He is also on the executive board for SAGE (Supporting and Advocating for Gifted Education), served on the 2016 GCISD District of Innovation Committee and completed the 2016-17 GCISD Leadership Academy. He has also volunteered in numerous other roles at our schools.

Outside of our schools, Noell has volunteered as a baseball and soccer coach for many seasons, co-managed a Destination Imagination team, served his neighborhood as homeowners’ association president, served on the Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers board of directors and volunteered for GRACE, local road racing events, lake clean-up projects, Habitat for Humanity and the Special Olympics.
