Biography
Becky St. John, selected as Board Secretary for 2012-2013 and 2014-2015, and Board Vice-President for 2017-2018 and 2021-2022, was elected to the Board in May 2009. She has lived in Grapevine since 2001, serving in various school district and community roles. In GCISD, she has been a member of the District Excellence Committee since 2006, has served on the Budget Advisory Committee, and is a member of the Dove Elementary PTA. She also serves on the Texas Association of School Boards' Grassroots Legislative Advisory Council and has represented GCISD and Texas at the National School Board Administration Education Advocacy Institute as the Congressional District 24 representative.
Within the community, St. John served five years on the Grapevine Planning and Zoning Commission and is the current president of Keep Grapevine Beautiful. She is a member of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce-Women’s Division, a graduate of the Leadership Grapevine program, and an active volunteer in citywide cleanup events and festivals. Prior to moving to Grapevine, she served on the Roanoke Planning and Zoning Commission and the Roanoke City Council.
St. John earned a bachelor degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she studied history, English, and archeology. She worked as an archeologist and park ranger for the Corps of Engineers at Lake Grapevine from 1992 to 2000.
