Some members of the iUniversity Prep staff recently made a trip to Frisco to surprise two members of the Class of 2021. Beni Redžić and Dante Sealy both missed their graduation ceremony because of obligations to FC Dallas, so the staff decided to bring graduation to them.
Executive Director of Virtual Learning Dr. Kaye Rogers, Office Manager Donna Aulerich and teachers Andres Betancue and Heather Davis were on hand to surprise Redžić and Sealy at practice with their high school diplomas. Both students were also joined in the celebration by their families.
"I missed it (graduation) because I was out of town. I really thought I was going to get this (diploma) in the mail, you know, but it was cool to celebrate with all my teammates and family," said Sealy, who made his Major League Soccer debut last season.
"Our schedule is not like a normal teenager's," said Redžić. "We need the flexibility and all the support."
