Gema Padgett, GCISD’s Executive Director of Human Resources, has been named the Dr. Mary Hopkins TASPA Personnel Administrator of the Year. The award was announced virtually by the Texas Association of School Personnel Administrators (TASPA) during its annual conference this week.
The award is given each year and is the top honor for school human resources professionals in the State of Texas. To be eligible for the award, nominees must possess leadership ability, a high degree of personal and professional integrity, demonstrate high involvement in the TASPA community both at their TASPA regional district level and state-wide, and possess solid skills and understanding in matters pertaining to human resource and personnel administration.
Padgett joined GCISD nine years ago and has led one of the top human resources teams in the state. She and her team have been instrumental in creating a culture that has led to GCISD being named a Dallas Morning News Top 100 Workplace in each of the last three years.
