At its September meeting, the GCISD Board of Trustees was proud to virtually invite the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Women’s Division to formally recognize the partnership between the organization and the District.
The Women's Division is part of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and has more than 100 current members who are each dedicated to serving their community.
The group has been providing school supplies to GCISD since the mid 1980's, when the daughter of one of its members told her mom that a classmate didn't have supplies. The exact total number of students the Women’s Division has helped since the 1980’s is somewhat elusive, but it certainly numbers in the tens of thousands.
In 2012, the Women’s Division joined the first CONNECT Back to School Fair in GCISD and in the last nine years they have donated more than $262,000 worth of school supplies to the district. This past year, the Women’s Division ordered 1,407 school supply packs for pre-K through 12th grade and distributed them as part of a special drive-thru CONNECT Back to School Fair in GCISD.
GCISD sincerely thanks all current and past members of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Women’s Division for their support to the District and the community as a whole.
