Warren Cottle, current boys head soccer coach at Midland High School, has been named the head coach for the boys soccer program at Colleyville Heritage High School.
Coach Cottle has served at Midland High School as the boys head soccer coach since 2006 with a record of 118-71-41, seven playoff appearances and three district championships. He was also named the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Organization Region I Senior Showcase Coach in 2008 and was District Coach of the Year in 2010, 2015 and 2016. In addition to coaching at Midland High School, Coach Cottle was the head coach for the West Texas Shockers, a semi-professional soccer team and was responsible for coaching Texas athletes in the Olympic development program.
During the course of his professional career, Coach Cottle has served as the vice president, president and past president of the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Organization - a group dedicated to representing the growth and development of high school soccer and coaches for the State of Texas.
“We are excited to have Coach Cottle join the coaching staff at Colleyville Heritage High School,” said GCISD Executive Director of Athletics Bryan Gerlich. “His proven success with semi-professional and student athletes demonstrates that he is committed to the development of a well-rounded individual who achieves greatness on the field and in the classroom.”
GCISD Athletic Director Jay Zeller served as interim head coach for the later half of the 2017 soccer season while administrators searched for a permanent leader for the program.
Coach Cottle graduated from Angelo State University with a bachelors of science and then completed his master of science in kinesiology from the University of Texas Permian Basin.
