The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Counseling Department was recently awarded the School Partner of the Year Award during the annual Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County Community Partner Awards.  The awards recognize exceptional partners from Law Enforcement, Schools, the Crime Stoppers Call Center, and the Community for their service in 2019.

GCISD was nominated and selected to win this award because it is the most productive district in generating and following through on Friends for Life reports.

Friends for Life is a program of Crime Stoppers that focuses on 3rd party (friend) reports on fellow students who are being victimized or exhibiting behaviors that could put themselves or others at risk. Once the report is received, it is passed on to the counselors, and law enforcement if needed, so they may get students the resources and help they may need. The hope with the program is to identify students who are experiencing issues before they hurt themselves, others, or commit a crime.

“The GCISD Counseling Department has been very effective and proactive,” a Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County representative said. “Thus we wanted to award our School Partner for all the work that they do.”
