Posted on 09/06/2019

Several Medal of Honor recipients will be in attendance and recognized on Friday, September 13 when Colleyville Heritage football hosts Trinity at 7 p.m. at Mustang Panther Stadium. Organized by the Tribute to Valor Foundation, this promises to be a special evening for all involved.

Medal of Honor recipient James C. McCloughan will sing the national anthem prior to the game, and all recipients in attendance will be introduced and honored at halftime. There are also other events and recognitions planned throughout the game.

GCISD will also be honoring first responders and military personnel at this game , as well as on September 12 when Grapevine football hosts Northwest at 7 p.m. at Mustang Panther Stadium. On both nights, all first responders and all current and former military personnel can receive free admission for themselves by showing an ID or being in uniform.

Additionally, events will be held throughout the district on September 13 with several Medal of Honor recipients visiting GCISD campuses. Below is a full list of events, along with which Medal of Honor recipient will be at which event with their citation.

The Tribute to Valor Foundation is an Irving-based nonprofit that brings Medal of Honor recipients and other veterans of military service into schools to engage with students through workshops, assemblies, presentations and unique immersive experiences. The Foundation also works to help students understand the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curriculum. For more information, please visit tributetovalor.org
