Who are we?

The GCISD Elementary Honor Choir is an auditioned ensemble of 4th and 5th grade students from all 11 elementary schools in GCISD. We rehearse on Tuesdays during the Spring semester in the Grapevine Elementary School music room from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Students have the opportunity to sing challenging repertoire, make new friends from across the district, learn from GCISD choir faculty, and perform at a concert and choir festival. Students must participate in their campus choir  to be eligible to audition for the honor choir.  If your campus does not have choir available to you this year, you are still eligible to audition.

How do I audition?

Auditions for the choir are at each elementary campus, on November 5th or 8th. Your campus music teacher will send home a flyer to fill out and return to him/her if your child is interested. Auditions forms must be turned in by Friday, October 29th.  You can find the audition material HERE.

What will the choir wear?

Black pants, solid black sneakers (no white soles), black socks, and a GCISD Elementary Honor Choir t-shirt.

What does being in the choir cost?

There is a $35 fee to cover a t-shirt, binder, and sheet music expenses. (A $5 late fee will be applied if fees are paid after January 11th.)
We plan to attend a festival in the spring that will require an additional fee.
No student will be excluded from the GCISD Honor Choir or any related event for financial reasons.
