I have spent the last 20 plus years teaching English, French, and Journalism in the state of Illinois. My family and I moved to Grapevine-Colleyville 3 years ago, and we are still adjusting to the heat. This year I am teaching English 3, AVID 2 and PAP English 2. My goal is to encourage students to become life-long readers and writers. I want them to be able to follow their dreams and to realize that excellent reading and writing skills will help them in life.

Although I grew up in Kansas, I remember traveling to Dallas every year to go to the furniture market for my father's business. Now, here I am. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in French language and literature. During my college career, I was lucky to spend a semester studying in Chambery, France. My passion and training in foreign language helps guide my curriculum for English Language Learners. I completely grasp the cultural and language differences and nuances the ELL student experiences every day. I have also completed extensive training in Gifted Education and am well prepared to challenge all learners and prepare them for the next step.

If your student ever needs additional help, please know that I will make myself available. I offer morning tutorials and am available after school by appointment.

Although I grew up in Kansas and spent 25 years in Illinois, I will always remain a Jayhawk. Rock Chalk!
