All students, parents, and faculty members are encouraged to participate in the school wide reading program, "Reading Rocks".
"Reading Rocks" begins on September 10, 2007 and will end on May 9, 2008.
This reading program encourages recreational reading. In May, there will be a "Reading Rocks" ceremony for each grade level. Students who have completed all ten stations will receive a gold medal and certificate from the principal.
Each participant will receive a "CD" as a marker to track their reading progress as they move to each station. In order to move from station to station, a required number of books or pages must be read. Kindergarten and First Grade - 15 books Second Grade - 250 pages Third Grade - Fifth grade and adults - 300 pages
Log sheets for each grade level are available in the library and attached below. Please turn in log sheets to the classroom teacher. CD's are moved once a week by volunteer parents. If a participant completes all ten stations, they can start over. A star on a CD denotes that a student has already completed all ten stations.
